Wynne Man Sentenced to 8 Years in Prison for Possession of Child Pornography
LITTLE ROCK, AR – Tyler Austin Ball, 33, of Wynne, Arkansas, has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison after pleading guilty to one count of possession of child pornography. The plea, entered Friday, allows Ball to avoid significantly longer sentencing associated with more serious charges.
Ball was originally indicted in April 2023 on nine federal counts related to the production of child pornography, offenses that carry a potential sentence of up to 30 years.
The case stems from a 2015 incident involving a then 10-year-old girl. While the initial investigation was closed due to insufficient evidence, it was reopened in December 2021 after authorities learned Ball had allegedly contacted the victim via Snapchat.
Investigators subsequently discovered 14 images depicting sexual activity between Ball and the victim, along with eight additional images believed to violate Arkansas’s voyeurism laws.
Prior to the federal charges, Ball faced 14 counts of engaging a child in sexually explicit conduct, eight counts of video voyeurism, and one count of second-degree sexual assault in Cross County. These local charges remain pending, with no trial date currently scheduled. This case highlights the ongoing efforts to prosecute individuals involved in the exploitation of children and the importance of reopening investigations when new evidence emerges.
