Berlin – A pivotal moment for retro computing enthusiasts arrived today as Peri Fratic has successfully secured the financing needed to purchase Commodore, paving the way for the production of a highly anticipated “Ultimate Edition” C64 and continued research into the iconic platform. The deal was finalized with Fratic signing the purchase contract live alongside accompanying video footage.
The financing, achieved through backing the new Commodore-64 computer, has allowed Fratic to deposit the necessary funds into a trust account dedicated to both the Ultimate Edition’s production and ongoing research & development. This removes a significant hurdle in the long-running effort to revive the Commodore brand.
This news marks a significant step forward in Fratic’s aspiring plan to resurrect Commodore,a company that profoundly impacted the home computer revolution of the 1980s. The original commodore 64, released in 1982, became the best-selling single computer model of all time, renowned for its affordability, notable graphics and sound capabilities, and a vast library of games and software.
