Salmon Arm,BC – The Vernon Jackals RFC and yeti Rugby Club have claimed Championship victories at the 2025 Saratoga Cup,presented by Hideaway Public House,solidifying the Okanagan region’s dominance in Rugby. Both teams secured their respective titles this weekend at Little Mountain Fields,marking a significant moment for Rugby in British Columbia.
The Jackals clinched their inaugural Men’s Saratoga Cup title in a nail-biting 20-19 finish against the defending champions, Terrace Northmen RFC. together, Yeti Rugby Club celebrated its first-ever Women’s Saratoga Cup Championship with a decisive 28-10 win over the Rocky Mountain Rogues. This year’s tournament showcased the highest level of competition to date, featuring ten teams from seven Clubs.
The 2025 Saratoga Cup also witnessed the debut of trail RFC in the Women’s competition, achieving a commendable third-place finish. This performance underscores the expanding reach and growth of Rugby within the Kootenays region.The event kicked off Saturday morning with a successful Try Rugby session,hosted in collaboration with Yeti Rugby Club,introducing new players to the sport.
