Dortmund,Germany – August 5,2023 – Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzić provided updates on the team’s pre-season preparations and the condition of defender Niklas Süle following a 3-2 defeat to Juventus in a recent dress rehearsal match. Terzić acknowledged the team’s lack of sharpness but attributed it to the early stages of pre-season training.
“We didn’t have the freshness that we need to have,” Terzić stated. “But that was to be expected after two weeks of pre-season. We were at the training camp and did quite a bit ther, but I don’t want to use that as an excuse. We made a few minor mistakes. I also saw some good things, but the details were missing. That’s why we lost the game.We still have some work to do because we’re not where we need to be yet.”
the team is currently focused on regaining fitness ahead of their upcoming DFB-Pokal (German Cup) tie against Essen on August 12th at Hafenstraße stadium. Terzić plans to give the players two days off after a training session tomorrow to allow for recovery.

We want to play intense and aggressive football. We want to score lots of goals and so we need to put our opponents under pressure. I hope we can manage to do that.”
