Borussia Dortmund Manager Edin Terzić Addresses Pre-Season Form and Süle Injury

Dortmund,Germany – August 5,2023 – Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzić provided updates on the team’s pre-season preparations and the condition of defender Niklas Süle following a 3-2 defeat to Juventus in a recent dress rehearsal match. Looking ahead to the 2023-24 Bundesliga season, Terzić outlined the team’s ambition to qualify for the Champions league. He emphasized the importance of hard work and humility, avoiding overly ambitious pronouncements.

“We would like to get back into the Champions League,” Terzić said. “We need to be hard-working and humble so we’re definitely not going to be making any bold statements. We want to play intense and aggressive football. We want to score lots of goals and so we need to put our opponents under pressure. I hope we can manage to do that.”

A concerning development from the Juventus match was a calf injury sustained by Niklas Süle. The 28-year-old German international will undergo an MRI scan tomorrow, August 6th, to determine the severity of the injury.Süle has been a key defensive player for Dortmund since joining from Bayern Munich in 2022.

“He felt his calf,” Terzić confirmed. “We will do an MRI scan tomorrow and hope that nothing too serious has happened.”
