NEW YORK – Streets in Midtown Manhattan will be closed Sunday, May 19th, for the annual New York City Dominican Day Parade, a vibrant celebration of Dominican culture adn heritage.the parade,officially the National Dominican Day Parade,is expected to draw over 50,000 participants and hundreds of thousands of spectators.
The parade will commence at Sixth Avenue and 36th Street, proceeding north along Sixth Avenue to 55th Street, covering approximately 20 blocks. The route will pass iconic landmarks including Bryant Park and Rockefeller center. This year’s Grand Marshals include singer Olga Tañón, actor Vinny Massari, and community leader Dr. Ramón Bueno.
Organizers, led by the national Dominican Day Parade, Inc. (NDDP),emphasize that alcohol consumption is prohibited along the parade route. Additionally, items obstructing spectator views are also banned. The NDDP, founded in 1982 by Juan rosa, aims to promote Dominican culture and foster unity within the community.

The New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) has announced the following street closures to accommodate the parade:
Staging Area (Formation):
- Sixth Avenue between 37th Street and 38th Street
- 36th Street between Broadway and Fifth Avenue
- 37th and 38th Streets between Fifth Avenue and Seventh Avenue
Parade Route:
- Sixth Avenue between 36th street and 55th Street
Dispersal Area:
- 55th Street between Sixth Avenue and Seventh Avenue
