The couple,known for their engaging work in making complex scientific concepts accessible to the public,are embarking on a cycling tour of the Italian island.
Marte Stokstad is a well-known science journalist at NRK (Norsk rikskringkasting), the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, frequently covering health and environmental issues.Andreas Wahl is a physicist and popular science communicator,known for his viral videos demonstrating physics principles in everyday life,and author of the book “Like a Scientist.”
The couple expressed a long-held desire to visit Sardinia, specifically drawn to its status as a “Blue Zone“-a region identified as having a particularly high concentration of centenarians. They have secured accommodations at a currently undisclosed hotel and plan to explore the island’s diverse landscapes by bicycle.
“It has long been a dream to go there,to one of the blue zones,” Wahl stated.”We have found a great hotel and are going to cycle around and explore the island.”
Looking ahead, Stokstad and Wahl acknowledge the inherent unpredictability of life while embracing their future together. “We are looking forward to being married, and have many dreams of the future, but it will never be quite as you have thought anyway, so best to just live in the moment,” Stokstad concluded.
