Concacaf U-15 Championship: Repechage Matches Set to determine Final Semifinalists

Following the conclusion of the group stage at the 2025 Concacaf U-15 Championship, held in the Dominican Republic, the four teams eliminated from semifinal contention will compete in repechage matches to secure the final two spots in the tournament’s final four. These matches,scheduled for February 28th at the Estadio Félix Sánchez in Santo Domingo,will utilize tiebreaker criteria as outlined in section 12.6 of the official tournament regulations.

Honduras to Face Saudi Arabia in First Repechage Clash

Honduras, representing the Central American nation, will meet Saudi Arabia, the invited Asian Football Confederation (AFC) representative, in the opening repechage game. Honduras finished third in Group A with a record of three wins, one loss, and zero ties, accumulating nine points. Their victories came against Panama (3-1 on February 21st), Nicaragua (4-0 on February 18th), and El Salvador (2-1 on february 16th), while their defeat was a 2-1 loss to group winner Mexico on February 23rd.Despite a strong showing, Honduras was edged out of the semifinals on goal difference.

Saudi Arabia concluded Group B with four points, registering one win, one draw, and one loss. They suffered a 3-0 defeat against the United States on February 17th, drew 1-1 with Canada on February 20th, and secured a 2-0 victory over Costa Rica on February 24th.The Saudi Arabian squad is coached by Saleh al-Mutawa.

Canada and El Salvador to battle for Semifinal berth

The second repechage match will pit Canada against El Salvador. Canada finished fourth in group B with one point and a record of zero wins, one loss, and two draws. Their results included a 1-0 loss to the United States on February 19th, a 1-1 draw with Costa Rica on February 22nd, and a 1-1 draw with Saudi Arabia on February 20th. El Salvador, meanwhile, ended in fourth place in Group A with one point and a record of zero wins, one loss, and three draws. They lost to Mexico (4-0 on February 18th), drew with Nicaragua (0-0 on February 21st), drew with Honduras (2-2 on February 16th), and drew with Panama (1-1 on February 23rd). Canada’s head coach is Andrew Olivieri, while El Salvador is led by coach Luis Ernesto Rugamas.

The winners of these repechage matches will advance to the semifinals, joining group winners Mexico (Group A) and the United States (Group B), as well as the runners-up from each group. The semifinals are scheduled for March 2nd, with the championship match taking place on March 5th, both at the Estadio Félix Sánchez.
