Jakarta, Indonesia – A significant reshuffling of top police leadership has been announced by the indonesian National Police (Polri), impacting regional commands across the archipelago. The changes, formalized through a Polri letter dated November 27, 2023, aim to bolster security and operational effectiveness within key provinces.

Effective immediately, brigadier General Djati Wiyoto Tentanghy has been appointed as the new Chief of the North Kalimantan Regional Police, replacing Inspector General Hary Sudwijanto. Prior to this assignment, Tentanghy served as the Deputy Chief of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Metro Jaya).

Similarly, Inspector General Achmad Kartiko has been relieved of his duties as Chief of the Aceh Regional Police and succeeded by Brigadier General Marzuki Ali Basyah. Basyah previously held a position as an expert staffer (Pati) within the Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) Polri, seconded to the National Narcotics Agency (BNN).

The polri directive encompasses a broader rotation of regional police chiefs, including:

  • Jaya Regional Police: Inspector General Edi Sueri

  • Gorontalo Regional Police: Inspector General Widodo

The changes are expected to be formally inaugurated in separate ceremonies at each regional police headquarters in the coming days.
