A significant fire broke out at the Pharmatech production facility in Fredrikstad, Norway, prompting a large-scale emergency response. Firefighters from multiple regions, along with the Civil Defense, are on-site battling the blaze, which has reignited.

While the fire poses a risk of spreading to other sections of the industrial building,there is no threat to residential areas in the vicinity. The incident is unfolding in an industrial zone along the Glomma river, situated between the centers of Fredrikstad and Sarpsborg.
Emergency services deployed to the scene include resources from the Nedre Romerike, Rygge, and Follo fire departments, with additional specialized equipment en route from gardermoen. the Civil Defense has been called in to provide support with hoses and pumps.
Potential for Gas Release
The initial report of the fire at the Pharmatech facility in the Valle industrial area on Rolvsøy, Fredrikstad, was received by police at 6:43 PM. It has been confirmed that no personnel were inside the building when the fire began.
Eyewitnesses observed the fire from the Østfold line as they passed by.
Upon arrival, emergency responders encountered flames and considerable smoke. “A significant amount of black smoke was observed, and it is understood to be a warehouse belonging to a pharmaceutical company,” stated interim leader Tolpinrud.he further elaborated, “Extinguishing efforts are underway in one area of the building, and a large quantity of plastic is burning, which could release gases.”
A 50-meter safety perimeter has been established around the fire. Police have cordoned off the road on Rolvsøy and are urging onlookers to move away from the area.
