US Ignores Killing of Palestinian Activist Linked to Settlement Violence

US Spokesperson Dodges Questions on Palestinian Activist’s Murder

United States department of State spokesperson Tammy Bruce evaded questions regarding the murder of Palestinian activist Awdah Hathaleen.

The suspect in Hathaleen’s death,Yinon Levi, was allegedly an Israeli settler previously sanctioned by the US government.

During a press conference on Tuesday, Bruce declined to state whether levi would be held accountable for hathaleen’s death.

“Israel is conducting an investigation related to situations like this,” Bruce stated, adding, “I don’t know the end result, I also will not comment or speculate about what should have happened.”

The exchange occurred one day after video footage emerged showing Levi firing at Hathaleen in the village of Umm Al-Kheir.

The 31-year-old activist succumbed to a gunshot wound to the chest.

yinon Levi is among several israeli settlers in the West Bank who faced sanctions under former US President Joe Biden for violence against Palestinians.

However, President Donald Trump rescinded these sanctions via executive orders shortly after beginning his second term in January.

Britain and the European Union, however, continue to uphold sanctions against Levi.

Hathaleen, a resident of Yatta, was instrumental in the creation of the Academy Award-winning documentary ‘no Other Land’.
