Manthey’s public reappearance comes as he is reportedly engaged in a legal struggle to claim his rightful share of the inheritance from his late parents, Surya Mertjoe, also known as Tjoe Min Fat. Manthey was previously recognized for his distinguished appearance and association with an “old money” background, stemming from his affluent family.

His father, Surya Mertjoe, was the proprietor of Deli Plaza and possessed critically important assets, including palm oil plantations under PT Marajaya kebun Tanjung Morawa, spanning approximately 850 to 900 hectares, along with a 12-hectare land parcel. Despite his family’s wealth and his own upbringing in Medan, Manthey’s current circumstances appear to have shifted dramatically.

Through his TikTok content, Manthey has disclosed that his financial resources have been depleted. He is now actively seeking any available work to secure an income, emphasizing the necessity of earning a halal living. “Now I am an all-out.If I ask now what work, I don’t have any work, sir,” Manthey stated in a recent video. He further expressed his willingness to take on roles such as a driver while his legal case progresses, highlighting the pressing need to provide for his children and mother. “So, I hope the critically important thing is halal if there
