Manhunt Underway for Suspect in Double Park Homicide
Couple Found Dead on Hiking Trail; Children Unharmed
Authorities are urgently seeking a suspect in the fatal attack on a couple who were hiking with their two young daughters in Arkansas. The victims, identified as Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, were discovered deceased on Saturday.
Tragedy Strikes Devil’s Den State Park
The brutal incident occurred at Devil’s Den State Park in Washington County. Clinton Brink and Cristen Brink were found dead on a walking trail, according to Arkansas State Police (ASP). Their daughters, aged seven and nine, were not physically injured and are now in the care of family members.
Police received notification of the suspected double homicide around 2:40 p.m. local time on July 26. The ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division is leading the investigation into the killings.
Suspect Description and Vehicle Information Released
The suspect is described as a white male wearing a long-sleeved shirt with rolled-up sleeves, dark pants, a dark ball cap, sunglasses, fingerless gloves, and carrying a black backpack. Authorities reported the individual was seen departing the park in a black, four-door sedan, possibly a Mazda, with a taped license plate.
The vehicle was observed heading towards a park exit, potentially traveling on State Highway 170 or State Highway 220 near the park’s rural, wooded vicinity. Investigators are appealing for public assistance, requesting anyone with photos or videos from the park around the time of the incident to review them for images of the suspect.

Park Remains Secured; Investigation Intensifies
The section of the park where the attack occurred remains cordoned off by law enforcement. Officials noted the park’s remote location, characterized by rugged terrain and dense vegetation, where cellphone service is unavailable. Residents near the park are also asked to share any security or game camera footage they may possess.
Authorities have cautioned the public against sharing footage from the area on social media, as it could potentially compromise the ongoing investigation. There is currently no information regarding a motive for the killings.

Increased Patrols and Official Condolences
The Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism has increased patrols by park rangers, who are fully commissioned law enforcement officers. Shea Lewis, secretary of the department, expressed deep sadness over the tragedy.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred at Devil’s Den State Park. Our hearts are with the victims’ loved ones during this incredibly difficult time,” Lewis stated. “The safety of our visitors and staff is our highest priority…”
Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders also released a statement, conveying her heartbreak and offering prayers for the victims’ families, emphasizing that law enforcement will pursue justice for the perpetrator.
As of July 2024, over 40,000 homicides were reported in the United States annually in recent years, highlighting the persistent challenge of violent crime across the country (FBI, 2019).
