Morrissey Returns to Italy: Concerts, Past & Present

Morrissey‘s recent Italian tour stop in Rome has concluded, marking a period of apparent reconciliation. Teh concert featured a setlist including “Setty” and “Everyday is like Sunday,” accompanied by a looped display of images featuring literary figure Jack Kerouac, musician David Bowie, and Italian filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini. Guitarist Carmen Vanderberg, described as having a Nordic name but being from Lucca, Italy, also returned to the band for the performance.

Morrissey’s stage presence was characterized by aphoristic statements, such as his observation that “those who have problems with sex produces the best music in the world.” The audience’s most eager response was reserved for his declaration, “It is an honour to return to Italy.” The events in Rome are now in the past, with a period of peace established, at least for the immediate future.
