Ukraine Seeks Long-Range Missiles to Counter Russian Aggression

by Emma Walker – News Editor

The defensive systems that Donald Trump promised to sell Kyiv is not enough to stop the aggressive Russian campaign to destroy Ukraine.

A long-range offensive weapon is necessary, which can be struck by Russian production facilities and routes of missiles and drones, said the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky in interview The Washington Post.

The Russian army shells “almost everything – airfields, settlements, infrastructure facilities,” said Syrfa, adding: “Therefore, of course, we need the supply of ballistic missiles to give the enemy a worthy rebuff.”

He urged the United States and European countries to provide Ukraine with more medium and high-range missiles, including American Atacms and German Taurus, and without restrictions on the range of strokes established by the Joe Biden governance.

This, according to Syrky, will allow Kyiv to undermine the production of Russian weapons, firing at the production of missiles and drones.

The new supply of air defense systems promised by Trump, including Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, drones interceptions and light aviation to knock down drones, will help fight bombing, Syrian noted.

In recent months, the Russian army has been sending hundreds of drum drones to Ukrainian cities almost every night and from one to several dozen missiles.

But this is not enough to confront aggression, assures Syrfa: “The presence of any rocket weapon in itself is a restraining factor.

I hope that thanks to President Trump’s position, this process will be much simplified, and we will not have the difficulties that were before.”

Trump at the beginning of last week promised to organize the supply of Patriot, and also other air defense systems.

The main scheme is as follows: European countries will provide Kyiv with complexes and in return they will buy new ones from the united States.

Germany and the united States are already close to the conclusion of such an agreement, Reported On Monday, Bloomberg with reference to people familiar with the course of negotiations.

Berlin will send two Patriot batteries to Kyiv, and Washington will replace them with delivery from production reserves.

German defense minister Boris Pistorius also stated: Berlin will do everything possible to “put a total of five Patriot systems to Ukraine quickly.

As for offensive weapons, Pistorius said in July that Germany would not give Ukraine missiles to Ukraine.

Simultaneously occurring, according to Syrsky, the permission was laid down by the Bayden administration for a long time to strike at the ATACMS missiles in Russian territory allowed last fall to turn the situation in the Kharkov region:
