The upward trend is primarily reflected in early indicators. Emergency department visits for COVID-19, while still low nationally at 0.5%, are up 10.9% from the previous week. These increases are more pronounced in children aged 4 years old and younger.

Test positivity is also climbing slightly at the national level. It now stands at 4.8%, an increase of 1.1 percentage points from the prior week. This suggests a subtle but measurable uptick in community transmission.
