A 15-year-old festival-goer has been hospitalized with severe injuries after allegedly being pressured by rapper Destroy Lonely to jump from a stage at Romania’s Beach Please festival. Organizers are now enforcing a strict new policy banning participants from the stage, even if invited by performers.
Fan Suffers Significant Internal Injuries
The incident occurred last weekend during the annual Beach Please hip-hop festival. The injured teen, identified as Nicholas, sustained a pulmonary contusion, along with liver and kidney lesions. He is expected to require weeks for recovery.

Video footage appears to show Destroy Lonely repeatedly encouraging the young fan to take the leap. One angle captures the Opium label artist physically gesturing for the attendee to perform the dangerous stunt off the elevated platform.
Festival Organizers Respond with New Protocols
Andrei Şelaru, a co-founder of Beach Please, issued a statement condemning the artist’s actions. “We stand with the young man who suffered an injury last night, during a spontaneous moment spent onstage,” he stated. “We believe that the incident was caused by an irresponsible attitude of the artist who invited him onstage and urged him to jump.”

“That is why, as of today, we have a new rule at the festival: no participant has access to the stage, even if invited by the artist,” Şelaru added.
The victim himself recounted the terrifying moments after the fall, telling local Romanian media, When I fell, I thought I was dying. I had no more air, I ran out of air. I thought if I didn’t get help here, these would be my last moments.
The dangerous trend of crowd interaction, like stage diving, can lead to severe injuries. In 2023, a similar incident at a concert in London resulted in a spectator sustaining a concussion and broken ribs after being pushed into a mosh pit (Source: BBC News, October 2023). The family of the injured teenager plans to file a formal complaint.
Representatives for Destroy Lonely have not yet responded to requests for comment.
