A tragic accident in Jesolo, Italy, has claimed the lives of two motorcyclists and left four others injured. The collision, involving multiple vehicles, occurred Saturday afternoon, prompting a large-scale emergency response.

Details of the Incident

The crash occurred around 4:40 p.m. on the roundabout near via Adriatico, leading to the Lido. Initial reports indicate that a motorcycle, four cars, and a truck were involved. The driver of the truck is the only person involved who remains unidentified. Local police are working to reconstruct the sequence of events.

Emergency services, including a helicopter from Treviso and several ambulances, were dispatched to the scene. The victims have been identified as Italian citizens born in 1964 and 1965. According to initial findings, the motorcycle, after attempting to overtake another vehicle, collided with a van before hitting two cars in the opposite lane.

The crash caused significant traffic congestion in the area. According to the World Health Organization, road traffic injuries are a leading cause of death worldwide, with an estimated 1.19 million lives lost each year (WHO, 2024).
