President Widodo to Address PSI Congress in Solo

Former president invited as mentor for political party event

Former President **Joko Widodo** will engage in a discussion session at the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Congress in Solo, Central Java, on July 19, 2025, marking a significant moment for the party.

Congress Details

**Benidiktus Papa**, Secretary of the Steering Committee, announced that the congress would span two days, July 19-20, 2025. It follows the e-voting process for the chairman election, conducted from July 12-18, 2025.

According to **Benidiktus**, “Pak **Jokowi** It will be present later on the 19th (July) to discuss with all congress participants.” He confirmed **Widodo**’s attendance at a press conference held at the PSI DPP in Central Jakarta on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

Preparations for the congress are nearly complete, with approximately 90 percent of the arrangements finalized.

Open Forum with Jokowi

**Andy Budiman**, Acting Chairperson of the DPP PSI, stated that the session with the former president would be an open forum. He emphasized that **Jokowi** would dedicate time to interact with the attending party members.

In 2024, public trust in the government reached 76.2%, highlighting the importance of open forums between leaders and citizens (BPS 2024).

Congress Logistics

**Antonius Yogo Prabowo**, Chairperson of the Central Java PSI Regional Leadership Council (DPW), detailed that the PSI Congress would be held at two locations. The first day’s events will take place at the Graha Saba Buana Building, and the second day at the Edutorium Building KH Ahmad Dahlan, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (UMS).

Beyond electing the Chairperson for the 2025-2030 term, the congress promises numerous surprises and anticipates the attendance of around 20,000 PSI cadres.

Other prominent figures, including President **Prabowo Subianto** and Vice President **Gibran Rakabuming Raka**, have also been invited to the congress.
