Wasaga Beach Launches Summer Soundtrack, Inviting Music Suggestions
Ontario’s Iconic Beach Town Curates Playlist for Season’s Start
Wasaga Beach, a favorite summer destination for many in the Greater Toronto Area, is kicking off the season with a curated Spotify playlist. This soundtrack, designed to enhance beach experiences, invites residents and visitors to soak in the sun while listening to a blend of classic and contemporary tracks.
Music for Summer Fun
Each year, over two million people head to this Georgian Bay community, renowned for its expansive freshwater beach. To amplify the summer vibe, the town has launched an official playlist on Spotify. This music selection is perfect for enjoying a cold drink by the water or around a campfire.
“For over 100 years the Town of Wasaga Beach has been Ontario’s iconic and most visited summer playground. This year, we’re celebrating the first day of summer by kicking off a new tradition – launching The Official Soundtrack of Summer,”
—Mayor Brian Smith, Wasaga Beach
The playlist features Canadian artists such as Neil Young, Bryan Adams, and The Tragically Hip, plus the 1990s hit Steal My Sunshine by Len. According to Destination Ontario, tourism spending in Ontario reached $21.3 billion in 2023 (Source).
Get Involved
The town is encouraging the public to suggest additions for the playlist via its social media channels. This interactive approach is intended to make the soundtrack a community project, evolving throughout the summer. This collaborative effort hopes to capture the spirit of the season.
