Quad Foreign Ministers to Meet July 1st Amidst Shifting US Priorities
Washington D.C. – A meeting of foreign ministers from the Quad – Japan, the United States, Australia, and India – is scheduled for july 1st, as announced today by US State Department Deputy Press Secretary Tommy Piggott [Reuters]. US Secretary of State Rubio will chair the discussions.
This meeting aims to “further strengthen the momentum to promote a free, open, safe Indo-Pacific,” according to Piggott. The Quad framework has historically focused on collaborative efforts amongst these four nations, largely driven by shared concerns regarding China‘s growing influence in the region.
