They will perform alongside organist Liga Ivan, presenting works by J.S. Bach, W.A. mozart, J. Vitols, Ē. Esenvalds,and also the premiere of a new work by Ingmars Zemzaris.
Organist Aivars Kalējs and violinists Ilze Kirsanova and Sofia Kirsanova (Latvia/Australia) will perform works by J.S. Bach, P. Plakidis, and A. Kalējs on June 27, highlighting the versatility of the violin and organ combination.
The festival culminates on June 29 with Thanksgiving. Aigars Reinis 50, a concert celebrating the Dome’s Music Director and Organist. Reinis will perform with longtime collaborators: saxophonist Aigars Raumanis and Jazzbarok, violinist Lāsma Melder-Shestakova, double bassist Janis Rubiks, and singer Janis Strazdiņš. This ensemble blends Baroque music with jazz improvisation. The program includes works by J.S. Bach,M. Duruflé, M. Petersone, and F.H. Erlebach, along with two new works dedicated to the event: Anna Veismane’s Sun in the Window for saxophone and organ, and juris karlsons’ organ fantasy Sunrise.
