Canadian customs seize 2.5 tons of opium

Canadian Customs has seized a record 2.5 tons of opium in Vancouver. The drug was discovered in shipping containers at the city’s west coast port, the CBSA customs authority announced on Saturday. He was hidden in pallet loads. Opium is worth about C$50 million in street trading. It is said to be the largest amount of opium ever seized by the CBSA.

The authority did not provide any information on where the opium came from and whether any arrests had been made in connection with the discovery of the drug. However, he said the massive amount of opium was discovered following an investigation it launched in September with the Canadian Federal Police. Among other things, X-rays were used to examine “irregularities” in the pallets.
