GOP Leaders push for Epstein Document Release Amid Public Scrutiny
Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson has called for the release of additional documents pertaining to Jeffrey Epstein, stating on Tuesday, “Its a very delicate subject, but we shoudl put everything out there and let the people decide it.” This follows a request from former President Donald Trump to Bondi to unseal court documents related to Epstein a few days prior.
However, these actions are seen by many on the right as insufficient to meet the demand for full disclosure. The ongoing controversy has reignited attention on Trump’s 15-year association with Epstein, previously highlighted through photographs, videos, and interviews. In a 2002 interview with New York Magazine, Trump described Epstein as a “terrific guy.” Journalist Michael Woolf has stated he possesses 100 hours of recorded conversations with Epstein that detail his “deep relationship” with Trump.
The public sentiment indicates widespread dissatisfaction with the administration’s handling of Epstein-related documents, irrespective of the focus on conservative figures. A recent Reuters survey revealed that nearly 70% of Americans believe the administration is withholding data concerning Epstein’s “clients.” Concurrently, a CNN poll found that only 3% of Americans are satisfied with the information released by the goverment.
