$3.2M NYC Jewelry Heist: Thieves Disguised as Construction Workers

New York City –Thieves posing ‌as construction workers stole a safe​ and jewelry valued at approximately $3.2 million ⁣from ​a home in the ​Jamaica Hills neighborhood ⁤of Queens on October 16th,​ police said.

The burglary occurred around 2:20‌ p.m. ET when the suspects ⁤”forcibly” entered the residence through a ⁢rear door, according to ⁢an NYPD statement.‌ Once ⁢inside,​ they removed a safe and a substantial amount of jewelry.

Surveillance footage⁤ shows‌ the three ⁣suspects ​fleeing ⁤the‍ scene eastbound on 84th⁣ Drive in a blue Hyundai ​Elantra.

Two of ‌the suspects were ⁢disguised as construction workers. one was described as ​wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants, black⁣ sneakers, a neon construction vest, a white construction ⁢hat, and⁤ eye protective wear, while carrying a black backpack. ​The second wore a black sweatshirt, black pants, gray sneakers, a neon construction jacket, a white⁣ construction ⁢hat, eye protective wear, and a black⁢ face⁤ covering, also⁤ carrying a black backpack.

The third suspect, believed to be the ‍getaway driver, wore‍ a white hoodie sweater, black pants, ⁣gray sneakers, and ⁣black gloves.

No injuries were reported during the heist. Authorities continue to investigate and​ have released​ details⁤ in an effort to identify and apprehend the suspects.
