Uber Eats & Best Buy Launch On-Demand Electronics Delivery in the US – RTIH Reports
London, UK – November 22, 2024 – Retail Technology Innovation Hub (RTIH) is reporting a new partnership bringing on-demand delivery of consumer electronics to US customers. Uber Eats and Best Buy have agreed to a stateside tie-up, allowing shoppers to have a range of Best Buy products delivered quickly and conveniently.
The announcement comes following the 2024 RTIH Innovation Awards, held November 21st at RIBA’s 66 Portland Place in London, celebrating global tech innovation in omnichannel retail. The awards, now in their sixth year, have evolved from an online-only event during the COVID-19 pandemic to a sold-out gathering at a historic venue.
“The event is now into its sixth year and what a journey it has been,” said Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor of RTIH, during his welcome speech. “The awards started life as an online only affair during the Covid outbreak, before launching as a small scale in real life event and growing year on year to the point were we’re now selling out this fine, historic venue.”
The 2024 awards highlighted innovation across key areas including checkout-free stores, automated supply chains, immersive experiences, and – crucially – on-demand delivery, a focus area for the upcoming 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards. Thompson emphasized the importance of practical submission, stating, “We’ve got lots of great examples of companies taking innovative tech and making it usable in everyday operations – resulting in more efficiency and profitability in all areas.”
The event, hosted by comedian Lucy Porter, recognized a hall of fame of 2024 winners including Currys, IKEA, Clarks, Tesco, and Super Pharmacy.
RTIH is now accepting entries for the 2025 Innovation Awards. Interested parties are encouraged to fill out the form available on the RTIH website for further data.
