Liverpool 4-3 Crystal Palace: Mohamed Salah doubles as the edge thriller of the Reds

Liverpool's players celebrate the late goal of Sadio Mane

Mohamed Salah scored his 50th Premier League goal as Anfield's Liverpool defeated a determined Crystal Palace in a seven-goal thriller.

The Reds dominated the vast majority of the first half, but it was the guests who broke through Andros Townsend's bag, who defeated Alisson from close range after Wilfried Zaha had thrown back a cross.

The hosts came up with goals for the second hour, and it took Salah just a minute to equalize before going through Roberto Firmino seven minutes later.

Palace, however, was not in the air yet, and James Tomkins took advantage of the bad defense to get his side out of a corner.

A fateful mistake by Julian Speroni, who appeared for the first time since December 2017, gave Liverpool a head start they did not give up. The scorekeeper scooped the ball towards his own net so Salah could jump off the line.

Sadio Mane finished fourth in stoppage time just after James Milner was sent off for fouling Yellow Palace by Wilfried Zaha - although Max Meyer still had time to offer comfort to visitors.
