LaLiga Santander - Real Madrid vs Sevilla Second time in a row
If there was any doubt before the Real Madrid line-up was announced for Saturday's home match against Sevilla, it is now clear: there is an issue with Marcelo.
The Brazilian has been left out for the second consecutive LaLiga Santander game by Santiago Solari, who has chosen Sergio Reguilon in his place at left-back to face Jesus Navas and Sevilla.
After being left out against Real Betis, Marcelo's face said it all as he arrived at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday, it is now two weeks since his last appearance when he was booed and whistled against Real Sociedad.
Solari preceded to leave him out of the squad to face Leganes in the first leg of their Copa del Rey tie which appeared to be to rest him, but could instead have been the first sign of change.
He was then dropped against Real Betis and returned as a winger against in the second leg against Leganes, lining up alongside Reguilon, though it wasn't clear if that was his decision or that of Solari.
He joins Isco in having an unclear position at the club, though his poor form has been a concern throughout the season, even for Julen Lopetegui.
