New james Bond Game ‘007 First Light’ Revealed by HITMAN Studio
COLOGNE, GERMANY – A new James Bond game, “007 First Light,” is in development by IO Interactive, the studio behind the critically acclaimed HITMAN franchise. Revealed at Gamescom 2025, the game marks Bond’s first major appearance in gaming in over a decade.”007 First Light” will tell an original story featuring a young James Bond, before he became the legendary spy.Players will experience Bond as an impulsive agent still establishing his reputation, navigating a world with limited experience and relying on his instincts. The narrative centers around a rogue former spy now on the run, presenting a compelling antagonist for the inexperienced 007.
IO Interactive is prioritizing player creativity in the gameplay. The developers emphasize multiple solutions to challenges, with varied approaches to infiltration and combat. Players will have access to spycraft tools, instincts, and gadgets, allowing for diverse playstyles - from melee to long-distance engagements.
Gameplay footage showcased at Gamescom demonstrated a blend of storytelling, stealth, car chases, and action sequences, including a level set on a plane.
“007 First Light” is scheduled for release on March 27th, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The digital version is currently available for pre-order at a price of $70.
