用 FaceTime 通話被收電話費! 快改回免費網路通話設定 – T客邦
iPhone users are reporting unexpected cellular charges for calls they believed were free FaceTime audio sessions following the release of iOS 26.
The issue stems from a change in how the operating system handles default calling methods. While many users rely on FaceTime audio to conduct calls over Wi-Fi or 4G/5G networks to avoid traditional telecommunication fees, the iOS 26 update may automatically switch the default calling setting. This transition converts what would typically be a data-based FaceTime call into a standard cellular call, resulting in charges based on the user’s mobile service plan.
To prevent these costs, users are advised to manually verify their calling configurations within the system settings. The process to restore network-based calling involves navigating to the “App” section of the Settings menu and selecting “FaceTime.” Within the FaceTime menu, users must locate the “Default Calling App” option and specifically select “FaceTime Audio.”
Verification of the setting can be performed during an active call; if “FaceTime Audio” is displayed, the call is being routed through the internet rather than the cellular network. Users can check the status of a contact by long-pressing the phone icon on the contact page. If only a mobile phone number appears without a FaceTime option, the device is not configured for a network call to that specific contact.
