Markus Zadra of ASV Zadra-fighting/rothoblaas Kurtatsch secured a gold medal in the Masters +80 kg heavyweight division at the International Taekwondo Tournament in Turin on Sunday, March 1, 2026. His teammate, Gabriele Cera, won a bronze medal in the Masters -80 kg division.

The tournament, held in Turin, Italy, drew approximately 900 athletes representing four nations: Switzerland, Greece, Malta, and Italy. Zadra achieved his victory by winning both his semi-final and final matches with a clear points advantage, according to tournament reports.

Cera also advanced to the final after a successful semi-final performance, but was narrowly defeated, earning the bronze medal. The pair’s success represents a significant achievement for ASV Zadra-fighting/rothoblaas Kurtatsch, a club based in Kurtatsch, Italy.

The competition focused on the Master classes, encompassing fighters aged 35 and over. Zadra’s gold medal came after winning two fights, while Cera secured his bronze after winning one fight, as reported on social media by Zadra Fighting Taekwondo.

The results follow a successful 2025 for the Zadra team, during which Gabriele Cera secured a silver medal in the up-to-80kg black belt class at the Italian Taekwondo Championships, becoming vice-Italian champion. Toni Gurndin also won a bronze medal in the over-80kg black belt category at the same championships.
