Zach Bryan Confronts Fellow Musician Gavin Adcock at Oklahoma Festival
oologah, OK – A physical altercation nearly occurred between country music artists Zach Bryan and Gavin Adcock at a music festival in Oklahoma on April 27, 2024, according to videos circulating on social media and statements from both musicians. The incident unfolded hours before Adcock was scheduled to perform.
The dispute began when Bryan reportedly confronted Adcock about his location, allegedly seeking him out among other artists throughout the day. According to Adcock,Bryan arrived at the festival grounds and, after seeing Adcock between buses and later on his tour bus while watching a football game, began asking other artists,”Where’s Gavin? Where’s Gavin?” Bryan then approached a fence separating Adcock’s group from Bryan and demanded,”Fight like a man? Open the gate,” before physically shoving the barrier.
Adcock detailed the escalating situation in a video posted to Instagram, stating Bryan then drove a truck to the other side of the fence.”No artist who cares about their fans is going to fight right before their set, missing going on and disappointing fans who spent way too much money to be there,” Adcock said. He further explained he avoided engaging in a physical fight to avoid legal repercussions and missing his performance. video footage shows Bryan later jumping over the fence, despite the presence of barbed wire.
The incident follows a public exchange between the two musicians in July 2023, where Adcock criticized Bryan’s response to a 14-year-old fan on X (formerly Twitter). Adcock posted, “If you can’t handle the criticism of a 14 year old why do people idolize you?” adding that the fan and his parents had invested notable money to see Bryan perform.
As of April 28, 2024, Bryan has not publicly addressed the festival confrontation or Adcock’s statements. Adcock is a Georgia native, while Bryan is from Oologah, Oklahoma. Both artists are rising stars in the country music scene, with Bryan achieving widespread recognition for hits like “Something in the Orange” and Adcock gaining traction with songs like “Last One to Know.”
