YouTube TV to issue $20 Credits to Subscribers Starting November 9 Amid Disney/ESPN Dispute
YouTube TV will begin issuing $20 credits to subscribers on November 9 as a concession for the potential loss of Disney-owned channels, including ABC and ESPN,should a deal not be reached by sunday. All subscribers are expected to receive the credit by November 12, redeemable towards their next billing statement.
The credits come as negotiations between YouTube TV and Disney continue, with the two sides working to resolve a dispute reportedly centered around per-subscriber fees. Disney has reportedly prepared its employees for another week without its channels on the platform, despite a recent dip in viewership. Google promised the credits would be issued if Disney’s channels remained unavailable for an “extended period of time,” though it remains unclear if the credits would be issued monthly if the blackout persists.
According to a source briefed on the negotiations, talks are ongoing as of Saturday.
