YKT Geek fest 2025 Unveils Packed schedule of Games, Film, and Cosplay in Yakutsk
YAKUTSK, Sakha Republic – January 26, 2025 – The YKT Geek Fest 2025 is set to transform Yakutsk into a hub for geek culture on february 1st, 2025, at the Sports Complex “50-letiya Yakutii”. The festival promises a full day of events, showcasing local talent in gaming, film, animation, comics, and cosplay, with notable prizes and presentations planned.
Festival Highlights & Schedule
The festival will kick off with registration for both “General Cosplay” (11:00-16:00) and “Children’s Cosplay” (11:00-15:00) competitions. The opening ceremony, featuring welcoming remarks from the hosts, is scheduled for 12:15, promptly followed by performances from the crowned cover group (12:25) and the Kurulgen musical group (12:30).
Throughout the day, attendees can expect announcements of competitions and quests from YKT (12:50), the results of a drawing contest (12:55), and the unveiling of Yakutsk’s new video hosting platform, “HOVPPO” (13:00). Dodo-Pitza will also announce a competition (13:05), and further musical performances are slated from K-side (13:10), Milk Rain (13:15), Yllyk (13:40), and Ayyykuo (14:50), concluding with Neriberry (16:00).
Film & Comic Presentations: The festival will feature presentations of several films, including “Shana Botur” (14:00), “Mekheelecheen Bulchut” (14:05), and the NVK “Sakha” project “tooku” (14:10). A key presentation will be the comic “Oyuur O5oloro,” based on Yakut folklore, by Rostislav Pavlov and the Suluschaan design studio (13:20). The results of the short film contest, judged by Media School and Most, will be announced at 13:25.
Gaming & tech: Cryolite Games will present three new games developed by Yakut programmers (15:15). Panda Sakha, in collaboration with UUU studio, will present their “adventure menu” (14:20). AIRASHII SHOP will deliver a presentation and dance performance (14:30).
Cosplay & Awards: The festival will culminate in a series of awards ceremonies. winners of the “Children and Preschool Cosplay” competitions, along with the “Most Creative” nominee from “chest”, will be recognized at 15:30.The jury defile is scheduled for 16:30, followed by the “Professional Cosplay” participant defile at 16:40. Awards will be presented for “General Cosplay” (18:15) and “Professional Cosplay” (18:45).
Raffle Prizes: Attendees will have the chance to win a Nintendo Switch 2 (17:40) courtesy of the “artist shop” and a PlayStation 5 (17:50) from Almazergienbank. additional prizes will be awarded by Dodo Pitza (18:00), YKT (18:05), and Skintime (18:10).
Special Guests: The festival will also feature appearances by popular bloggers, including UT THE CRAP (15:50), and a Sakha dub performance by Anna Semenova and Snezhana Frolkina (14:40).
