Casper, Wyoming will host the Wyoming Amateur Hockey Association’s (WAHA) state tryouts for boys and girls aged 10-17 in April, according to a recent announcement from the organization.
WAHA, the governing body for hockey in Wyoming and a sanctioned member of USA Hockey, announced February 19, 2026, that registration for the 2026-2027 Player Development Camp (PDC) and Team Wyoming (TW) tryouts is now open. The tryouts will take place April 10-12 at the Casper Ice Arena. Boys birth years 2009 through 2013 and girls birth years 2009 through 2014 are eligible to participate.
The WAHA consists of 11 youth hockey organizations across the state and partners with the Northern Plains District and USA Hockey to provide programming for players through the Wyoming Amateur Hockey League and Team Wyoming. The organization currently serves more than 3,000 players, coaches, and volunteers.
According to the Northern Plains District website, the Wyoming tryouts are part of a broader regional process. Tryout camps for boys in the Northern Plains District – encompassing Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming – will be held in May in West Fargo, North Dakota. A multi-district camp for 14-year-old boys will also be held in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Girls tryouts in the Northern Plains District will also be held in April and May, with camps in Fargo, North Dakota. A multi-district development camp for girls is scheduled for Bowling Green, Ohio.
