WWE Stars Facing Struggles: Andrade, Johnny Gargano & More

Charlotte Flair’s divorce from Andrade El Idolo was finalized in October 2024, according to reports confirmed by PEOPLE. The WWE star initially filed for divorce in June 2024, bringing an end to a marriage that began with an engagement in 2020 and lasted just over two and a half years.

The split follows a period of professional and personal challenges for both athletes. Flair, a 14-time women’s champion and daughter of wrestling icon Ric Flair, has navigated a career marked by both immense success and public scrutiny. FandomWire reported that the marriage faced strain from rumors, emotional struggles, and difficulties balancing work and personal life. Flair has previously gone through two divorces, from Riki Johnson and Thomas Latimer, and publicly expressed feelings of shame and guilt regarding the end of her third marriage, fearing public judgment and perceived personal and professional failure.

Andrade’s career has also experienced turbulence. Following his release from WWE, his return to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) was complicated by a contractual clause that initially prevented him from performing. Wrestling-World.com reported on Andrade reflecting on his relationship with Flair, though details of those reflections were not immediately available.

The divorce occurred shortly after Flair won the women’s Royal Rumble in Indianapolis in February 2025, as reported by TMZ. The timing suggests a degree of personal difficulty coinciding with a high point in her professional career.
