The World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) is expanding its European presence with its inaugural event in Malta, scheduled to take place at Casino Malta in St. Julian’s from September 25 to October 5, 2026. The series, a collaboration between Casino Malta and Texapoker, will feature 12 championship ring events and a €1,500 Main Event.
Casino Malta CEO Slawomir Switalski hailed the event as a “historic moment” for the venue, stating, “We are honored to collaborate with Texapoker and the World Series of Poker to organize this prestigious event in our venue. Our team is fully prepared to welcome international players and provide an exceptional experience, both at and away from the tables.”
The addition of Malta to the WSOP Circuit calendar is expected to bolster the island nation’s standing as a prominent live poker destination in Europe. Texapoker Founder and CEO Apo Chantzis emphasized the commitment to delivering a “world-class festival that meets the highest international standards,” promising “strong structures, professional organization, and an unforgettable atmosphere.”
Each winner of a WSOP Circuit Ring Event will receive a $5,000 package to the WSOP Bahamas, providing an additional incentive for competitors. The festival will include a diverse schedule of ring events, side tournaments, and satellite qualifiers catering to players of all skill levels.
Gregory Chochon, Chief Operating Officer of the World Series of Poker, described the partnership as “an important step for live poker in the region,” adding that combining “a top-tier destination with the power of the brand” will allow them to “offer a world-class event and establish a new benchmark in the European poker calendar.”
Casino Malta has secured special hotel rates for players traveling to the island for the festival. The venue’s central Mediterranean location and accessibility are intended to attract a large international field.
