Woman thought she had pulled a muscle working out. It was a rare cancer that had spread to her brain.

Jennifer Frederick, who recently celebrated her 50th birthday, is nearing teh end of her cancer treatment, with her final round of therapy scheduled for December 2025. Following this, she will enter a phase of regular screening scans to monitor for any recurrence of the disease.

Frederick plans to share her personal journey and advocate for the critical importance of early cancer detection once her active treatment concludes. She has already begun supporting fellow cancer patients by mentoring them through the Cleveland Clinic’s 4th Angel program.

“I want people to know it gets harder before it’s easier,” Frederick stated. “My saying has always been ‘I may have cancer, but cancer does not have me.’ And I want people to feel that way, because it isn’t a death sentence.”
