Staffordshire Police Investigating Deaths of Two Children; Woman Arrested
STAFFORD, UK – A 43-year-old woman is in custody following teh deaths of two children at a residence on corporation Street in Stafford. Police responded to a call from West Midlands Ambulance Service at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Sunday.
Both children were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Staffordshire Police. Authorities have not yet released the ages of the victims, but confirmed that next of kin have been notified and are receiving support from specially-trained officers.
“We are working hard to understand more about what happened leading up to these two children tragically losing their lives,” stated Detective Inspector Kirsty Oldfield. “We ask that people do not speculate at this stage as it is distressing for family and friends and could hinder our inquiries.”
Police have stated there is currently no indication of a wider threat to the public.
