Windows 11 22H2 Reaches End of support Next Month, Users Urged to Update
REDMOND, WA - September 26, 2024 – Microsoft will cease support for all editions of Windows 11, version 22H2, on October 14, 2024. This includes the widely used Home and Pro editions, leaving systems vulnerable to security risks and lacking critical updates if users do not upgrade.
The end of support means PCs running Windows 11 22H2 will no longer receive security updates, non-security updates, or assisted support from Microsoft. This poses a notable risk to users, potentially exposing them to malware and other threats. Millions of Windows 11 users are currently running this version, and failing to update could leave their data and systems compromised.
Users can upgrade to the latest version of Windows 11, 25H2, which became generally available on September 10, 2024. The 25H2 update is accessible to eligible Windows 11 24H2 devices with the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” setting enabled.
