Wildcats Conclude Cross Country Season at NCAA Midwest Regional

K-State‘s cross country teams wrapped⁣ up their season at the NCAA Midwest Regional in ‍columbia, Missouri, on ⁢Friday. The wildcat men finished‌ 21st overall with ‍568 points, while‌ the women’s team ‌saw Hanna Keltner and cecilia Fisher lead ‌the way with times ⁣of 23:07.1 and 23:18.8, respectively.

This meet marked the end of the competitive ‍year for K-State, providing a final assessment ‌of the⁣ team’s progress‍ and individual⁣ performances. the NCAA Midwest Regional serves ‌as ‌a qualifier for the NCAA‌ Championships, where the ‍top ‌teams and individual ‌finishers advance.While K-State did ‌not secure ⁣a‍ team berth to the championship, the experience gained will be crucial‍ for⁢ future ‌progress and ⁣recruiting ⁢efforts.

Oklahoma State⁣ claimed the men’s team title with 38‍ points, followed ⁣closely ⁣by​ Iowa State (41 points) and Oklahoma (109 points). On the⁤ men’s⁢ side‍ for K-State, jackson Esquibel paced the team, finishing 68th with a time⁤ of 32:27.5. Brock ​Olsen⁢ (32:44.1)‍ and‌ Logan Beckman (33:00.6) also contributed to the team score, finishing 87th ⁣and 102nd, ⁢respectively. ‌Julian‍ Avila⁣ finished​ 149th⁣ (34:02.1)⁢ and Canyon Buehler placed 169th (34:32.5).
