Wildcats Conclude Cross Country Season at NCAA Midwest Regional
K-State‘s cross country teams wrapped up their season at the NCAA Midwest Regional in columbia, Missouri, on Friday. The wildcat men finished 21st overall with 568 points, while the women’s team saw Hanna Keltner and cecilia Fisher lead the way with times of 23:07.1 and 23:18.8, respectively.
This meet marked the end of the competitive year for K-State, providing a final assessment of the team’s progress and individual performances. the NCAA Midwest Regional serves as a qualifier for the NCAA Championships, where the top teams and individual finishers advance.While K-State did not secure a team berth to the championship, the experience gained will be crucial for future progress and recruiting efforts.
Oklahoma State claimed the men’s team title with 38 points, followed closely by Iowa State (41 points) and Oklahoma (109 points). On the men’s side for K-State, jackson Esquibel paced the team, finishing 68th with a time of 32:27.5. Brock Olsen (32:44.1) and Logan Beckman (33:00.6) also contributed to the team score, finishing 87th and 102nd, respectively. Julian Avila finished 149th (34:02.1) and Canyon Buehler placed 169th (34:32.5).
