Wiesbaden Residents Urged to Boil Water following Health Department Order
Wiesbaden, Germany – Residents of Wiesbaden are being advised to boil drinking water untill further notice following an order from the Wiesbaden Health Department. The precautionary measure, issued today, affects all areas of the city’s water supply except the districts of Amöneburg, Kastel, and Kostheim. The directive aims to protect public health while authorities investigate potential contamination.
The water supply companies of the state capital, WLW and ESWE Supply, are jointly issuing the boil water advisory. Residents are instructed to bring tap water to a rolling boil and allow it to cool for at least 10 minutes before using it for drinking, food and drink readiness, wound cleaning, and brushing teeth. Water remains safe for washing hands, showering, and flushing toilets. Extensive sampling of the distribution network is underway, with further testing planned in the coming days to determine the extent of any contamination.
WLW and ESWE Supply will disseminate updates via their websites, social media channels, and local media outlets as soon as the boil order is lifted. Citizens are asked for their understanding and cooperation during this period. The press release originates from the press office of the state capital Wiesbaden.
