Pete Davidson Praises Machine Gun KellyS Parenting as Musician Receives Style Icon Award
NEW YORK, NY - Pete Davidson publicly lauded Machine Gun Kelly as “a great dad” at Nylon magazine’s annual Nylon Awards on March 27, 2025, where Kelly was honored wiht the Style Icon award. Davidson’s comments come as Kelly navigates co-parenting with Megan fox, with whom he recently welcomed a baby girl, and prepares for the arrival of a child with girlfriend Elsie Hewitt.
Davidson, 31, also highlighted Kelly’s positive influence as a role model, stating, “He always leads by example.” He further emphasized their close friendship, expressing gratitude for having Kelly, 35, as someone he can confide in regarding career and life challenges. “He’s just a marvelous person and so resilient,” Davidson saeid. “He’s been around for two decades… That’s a crazy accomplishment. And he’s not going anywhere.”
Kelly,who has a 16-year-old daughter,Cassie,from a previous relationship,accepted the Style Icon Award and announced his intention to further explore fashion through design,campaigning,and modeling. He jokingly referenced his physical attributes, stating, “I am 6-foot-4 and smoke an insane amount of cigarettes, so I check a lot of those boxes.” The musician also quipped about a possible mix-up with the Met Gala invitation, reflecting on his upbringing as “a broke kid from the Midwest.”
Othre honorees at the event included Mary Alice Stephenson, Sarah Harrelson of Cultured, and designers Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim of Oscar de la Renta and Monse. the event was attended by Tiffany Haddish, Christy Turlington, and Pamela Hanson, among others.
