Who is Jed Gabler? Meet Singapore’s Viral National Polo Player

October 11, 2026 Lucas Fernandez – World Editor World

Singapore national polo player Jed Gabler is gaining widespread online attention across TikTok and Instagram at age 19, combining his equestrian career with national service and preparations for university entrance exams, 8days.sg reported.

National Service and Social Media Attention For Singapore Polo Player Jed Gabler

The 19-year-old athlete has drawn more than 3.5 million likes on his TikTok account @jed_gabler, where his riding and training videos regularly attract millions of views. The hottest polo player I’ve ever seen, declared one netizen, while another asked the question many were probably already wondering: Is he taken? No, I’m not seeing anyone at the moment. Between NS, polo and exams, my schedule’s pretty full right now! Jed tells us. Alongside his viral social media presence, Gabler is currently serving his national service in uniform while also managing academic commitments. Despite all the comments about his looks, Jed insists he doesn’t really see what everyone else is seeing. I’ve never thought about myself that way. There’s been a bit more attention in the last year or so, which has been really kind, but I still don’t quite know how to respond to it. Mostly I just find it funny and try not to take it too seriously, he says. When asked about netizens comparing his looks and athletic profile to Brunei’s Prince Mateen, Gabler told 8days.sg that it was flattering and the first time he had heard the comparison, responding: Haha, honestly that’s the first time I’ve heard that comparison! It’s very flattering!

Addressing questions about his relationship status and potential for modelling or showbiz work, Gabler confirmed he is not seeing anyone at the moment due to a busy schedule spanning national service, polo, and examinations. While he noted he would be open to acting if the right opportunity arose—stating, I’d be open to it if the right thing came along, and mentioning that his stepbrother is a film director, adding that being on a movie set and trying acting would be a pretty cool experience—his primary focus remains firmly rooted in the sport of polo.

Gabler Trains Internationally After Starting Polo at Age Eight

Polo is deeply embedded in Gabler’s family history. Born to Singaporean mother Lynly Fong and Australian-born father Jonathan Gabler, he was comfortable on horseback by age three and took up polo at eight. At 12, he made his debut for the Singapore Polo Club in 2019. He was subsequently named to Singapore’s 2025 SEA Games polo squad. My mum has been teaching me and stick-and-balling with me since I first picked up the sport, so a lot of my habits come straight from her, says Jed, who jokes, On the field I’m basically her minion.

His training regimen has taken him to Argentina, Spain, India, Australia, and the United Kingdom. His daily routine involves waking up early, hitting the gym, playing tennis, and spending time riding at the polo club. His mother, Lynly Fong, is an accomplished player who has won the Equestrian Federation of Singapore’s Polo Player of the Year award multiple times, while his father founded Queenstown Polo in New Zealand.

Gabler Plans to Study Economics and Represent Singapore

Looking ahead, Gabler intends to pursue university studies in economics and finance, targeting institutions in London once he completes his national service. He maintains a commitment to international competition and intends to continue representing Singapore in polo, stating: I definitely want to keep representing Singapore for as long as I can, as representing your country is a real source of pride, and it means a lot to me.
