Whittier Rollover Crash Sends 10 to Hospital, Three in Critical Condition
Ten people were hospitalized following a two-car rollover crash in South Whittier on Sunday night, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Three of the patients sustained critical injuries, while four suffered minor injuries in the collision at Telegraph Road and Biella Way.
The incident drew a rapid response from regional emergency services. According to Pauline McGee, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department, dispatchers received the call at 9:11 p.m. Fire personnel arrived at the scene just four minutes later to manage the wreckage and render medical aid.
Scene Details and Patient Conditions
Emergency responders found two heavily damaged vehicles blocking portions of the roadway. Footage from the scene captured a fully overturned Ford Focus resting near a road median, surrounded by scattered debris and broken glass shards. The second vehicle involved, a white Chevrolet, came to rest on its side off the road after apparently colliding with a fence.
Paramedics transported a total of 10 individuals from the crash site to area hospitals. While three patients were listed in critical condition and four others treated for minor injuries, the medical status of the remaining three individuals remains unknown, according to fire officials. Authorities have not yet released information regarding how many occupants were inside each vehicle.
Investigation and Municipal Impact
In addition to medical response efforts, fire personnel notified the local public works agency to address structural damage at the site, though exact details regarding the extent of the damage have not been publicly detailed by department spokespersons.
