Stranger Things Final Season Set to Release in 2025, Promises Closure for Beloved Characters
Los Gatos, CA – Netflix has confirmed the fifth and final season of its hit series Stranger Things will debut in 2025, bringing an end to the decade-spanning saga of Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Will, Max, and their battle against the Upside Down. The declaration follows the release of the first footage during Netflix’s Geeked Week event, offering a glimpse into the darker tone anticipated for the concluding chapter.
The fifth season will pick up after the devastating events of Season 4, with Hawkins still reeling from Vecna‘s near-total opening of the gate to the Upside Down. The official synopsis promises a “final confrontation” and exploration of the origins of the Upside Down. The Duffer Brothers, creators of the series, have stated the season will be “more aspiring” than previous installments, aiming to provide a satisfying resolution for all characters.
The series has become a global phenomenon, generating an estimated one billion dollars in net sales for Netflix across its first four seasons, excluding marketing and merchandising costs.
Actor salaries have dramatically increased throughout the show’s run. Early seasons saw child actors earning approximately $20,000 to $30,000 (roughly 417,000 to 626,000 Czech crowns in today’s conversion) per episode, Winona Ryder around $100,000 (approximately two million crowns), and David Harbour around $80,000 (less than 1.7 million crowns). By Seasons 3 and 4, child actors commanded $250,000 per episode, while “adult” actors earned up to $350,000. Estimates suggest that for Season 5, “child and teenage” actors earned roughly $750,000 to $875,000 (approximately 15.5 to 18.2 million crowns) per episode, with Ryder and Harbour exceeding $1 million (approximately 20.8 million crowns). Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven, reportedly had a unique contract, earning $20,000 to $30,000 in the first two seasons and around $300,000 in Seasons 3 and 4, with her Season 5 fee rumored to be the highest of all cast members.
In a nod to the show’s 1980s setting, H&M recently released a Stranger Things-inspired summer clothing collection, styled with an eighties aesthetic.
