Have you noticed a new blue and pink circle in your Meta apps? After the latest updates to WhatsApp, Instagram, and Messenger, observant users have spotted this new icon.This is Meta AI, integrating artificial intelligence into these messaging applications [[1]].
What Can Meta AI Do?
Meta AI’s location varies depending on the app. On Instagram, the blue and pink circle appears at the top of messaging, in the search bar. On Messenger and WhatsApp, it’s at the bottom, on the side, when you open the application [[3]].
To interact with the chatbot, simply type “@metaai” followed by your request in any discussion group. Meta AI will then be added to your contacts. This AI can write texts, translate documents, and even share culinary tips. Unlike some othre AIs, Meta AI does not limit the number of requests.
Privacy Considerations
This new feature may not appeal to everyone. Meta AI collects data during your interactions, so it is not recommended to discuss sensitive subjects with it.
Opting Out (At Least on WhatsApp)
You can remove Meta AI, at least from WhatsApp. here’s how:
- Open the Meta AI chat.
- Click the three dots in the top right corner.
- Select “Delete conversation.”
- Confirm your choice.
