The new notification system is designed to help users keep track of their conversations, particularly in instances were numerous messages are being exchanged. This aims to prevent discussions from being overlooked or abandoned.

Users will be able to manually set reminders for specific messages. The process involves a long-press on the desired message, followed by selecting a “Remind me” option and choosing a preferred notification time. Importantly, the activation of this feature is private; neither the sender nor other participants in a group chat will be notified when a reminder is set.

While this update is currently exclusive to Android users, it is anticipated that iOS users will recieve the new functionality at a later date.
