Weimer Divests Company Shares Amid Scrutiny
Berlin – Minister of State for culture Claudia Weimer has relinquished her ownership stake in Weimer Media group following reports raising questions about potential conflicts of interest, the ministry confirmed today. The move comes as scrutiny intensifies over the minister’s financial ties to the media company while simultaneously overseeing cultural policy impacting the industry.
The divestment addresses concerns voiced by opposition parties and media watchdogs regarding Weimer’s impartiality. The situation arose after allegations surfaced detailing the extent of Weimer’s holdings in the group, prompting calls for openness and a review of her role in decisions affecting media funding and regulation.
