Watch Yungblud Crowdsurf In A Wheelchair After Breaking His Leg

Dominic Harrison, known professionally as Yungblud, kicked off his first festival shows since breaking his leg by crowdsurfing in a wheelchair after suffering a broken leg and damaged knee ligaments in a motorbike accident, according to reports published by NME. The Doncaster rocker confirmed the injury on social media on Sunday, August 16, detailing that he sustained the damage in a crash while maintaining that his upcoming live schedule would proceed as planned.

Touring Through Injury: The Logistical Pivot

Rather than canceling dates, Harrison mobilized a support team and flew to Portugal to perform his scheduled set, executing his signature move of diving into the audience during a rendition of his 2022 song “Fleabag” while seated in a wheelchair. Speaking on his community channel after the gig, Harrison stated that his team and supporting personnel proved vital in managing the physical strain of the performance.

“Fucking hell, guys. I can’t believe we got through last night,” Harrison told his community channel following the performance. “Thank you for the energy, Portugal… my team were amazing and the girls that flew out to help me. They’re fucking legends, man. Honestly, they really got me through it.”

Festival Appearances and Live Circuit Momentum

The European dates follow a busy summer season for the artist, which included a performance at Lollapalooza in Chicago last month and stops at the Czechia edition of BludFest. Harrison is currently on the road supporting his double album, Idols, the second half of which arrived earlier this year. Reviewers have noted that the project marks a significant artistic milestone, with NME describing the double album in a four-star review as the soundtrack to his most successful era yet.

Despite dealing with damaged ligaments, Harrison confirmed to fans that he intends to honor his upcoming booking at the Pukkelpop festival in Belgium. “Bit of pain, but fuck it, man. I’ll see you Friday. It’s gonna be lit,” he shared on his channel. Harrison revealed plans to get himself operated on following the show to repair his knee before preparing for touring next year.

The busy live schedule follows a major career milestone earlier in the year when Harrison won his first Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance, recognizing his live cover of “Changes” performed at Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell show.
