Warframe Development for nintendo Switch 2 now Underway Following Kit Delivery
Toronto, ON – Development of Warframe for Nintendo‘s forthcoming Switch 2 console is officially in motion, Digital Extremes confirmed today. Teh team had been awaiting a development kit from Nintendo to begin optimizing the free-to-play action RPG for the new hardware.
While Warframe is currently playable on the Switch 2, it isn’t yet leveraging the console’s full capabilities. Digital Extremes CEO Steve sinclair revealed the company recently received the necessary kit from Nintendo, describing the Switch 2 as “Impressive equipment” and noting the excitement of thier technical leads.
The delay stemmed from the team not initially receiving a development kit for the new console. Now, wiht access granted, Digital Extremes is focused on creating a dedicated Switch 2 version of the popular title. Creative Director Rebecca Ford hinted at a potential development stream showcasing Warframe gameplay on the Switch 2, though a date has not yet been announced.
Warframe is currently available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and Windows. Players can expect further updates as development progresses.
